The best earl diesel truck for the money and MPG.?
I have a 2000 Chev 5.7 2500 4X4 gas and gets about 11 MPG and when I pull a 5th wheel it goes down to like 7 or 8 it seems like maybe less. I don’t have the money to buy a new diesel truck but I want something better then what I have now, MGP and power. I do have a Chevrolet right now but I am not loyal to any brand. I just want the best for the dollar. I am looking to buy a 5th wheel of my own for the family. I know nothing about diesel trucks. If you could give me some suggestions on the year model and engine size that you think are the best. Anything from 2000 to now. My price range is about 15,000 maximum, maximum. Any suggestions will be helpful.
I would suggest a Ford F-250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke diesel. This engine was made by International, and is virtually bulletproof. Tons of these are being used to pull 5th wheels.
