This year marks an extremely special time for sports and fashion brand Adidas. The company has just celebrated its 60th birthday which is certainly a huge achievement for any brand. Adidas has produced possibly one of the most popular ranges of sporting goods including trainers, clothing and watches and is renowned for its simple yet effective three stripe branding.
Adidas watches – the history-:
Adidas was originally founded on August 18th 1949 by Adi Dassler who began designing shoes which were aimed to be stylish yet practical and functional. Dassler branded his products with the three stripes because it was simple and unusual at the time. Little did he know that the brand would become so famous for this! Dassler was also from a very small rural town and never envisaged his trainers to become so popular and iconic. The president of Adidas is a gentleman named Erich Stamminger who feels that it is due to Dassler’s genuine passion for sport that enabled him to ultimately create a product that other athletes or aspiring athletes would benefit from. Of course, back in the 1940’s there was not much in the way of competition in the sports fashion industry and so Dassler spotted his niche at the perfect time. 60 years on, and the brand still stands by its original core values which consumers recognise and often stick to Adidas once they have tried it because the like what it represents; a true lifestyle brand. Of course the product lines have extended significantly and Adidas watches are definitely one of the most prominent of all sporting accessories.
Adidas watches – for the customer-:
Everyone is aware of the consequences of the economic climate during 2009 and this has of course largely affected the retail industry as the public no longer have as large a disposable income. Recognising that people are no longer going to spending money on luxury items which are not a general necessity, Adidas reacted accordingly by modifying its designs to enable some of their collections to be more budget friendly yet still in line with what people favour about the brand. This is all in the aim of bringing the brand closer to the consumer. With collections such as the Oddity Candy range, Adidas have certainly stepped up alongside the consumer and these watches have proved to be a huge selling success over the summer of 2009.
Adidas watches – Oddity Candy-:
The Oddity Candy range really does build the bridge between great quality and high fashion. Focusing heavily on style and trends, these range of Adidas watches are extremely cool with vivid colours including hot pink, yellow, blue and green and tick all the right boxes of combining fashion and function. Brightly coloured and chunky style timepieces have been a huge trend this year and so these watches are the perfect option if you are trend conscious. With a multi-functional digital display, Adidas have certainly maintained high function and the stainless steel coloured bands ensure durability. Possibly the best aspect of these Adidas watches is the price tag; at £50 each these are budget friendly and look fantastic.
It seems that even after 60 years, Adidas are still going strong and the brand is constantly updating its watch collection with a vast variety of different styles, functions and prices. It just goes to show that the oldies are usually always the goodies!
